My Pals are Here Teacher’s Guides serve as detailed and comprehensive guides to equip teachers for inquiry-based teaching. During the inquiry process, teachers take on the role of facilitators. They spark curiosity, cultivate the skills needed for inquiry and guide learners along the way.
Process skills tables – list the process skills that will be covered from Levels 1-6. They describe what each process skill entails, and help teachers carry out their role as facilitators with greater confidence.
Schemes of work – provide an overview of the units. Teachers can find out at a glance the process skills that are covered and the resources needed for each unit.
Lesson plans – contain many strategies for lesson planning. The purpose behind each of these strategies is closely linked to the BSCS 5E Instructional Mode (Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration and Evaluation), while questions for scaffolding, initiating inquiry and assessing learners’ understanding are also provided wherever applicable. Links to the relevant sections in the Textbook and Activity Book are also listed in the lesson plans. This facilitates the transition between the Textbook and Activity Book, and provides a more holistic learning experience for learners.
Textbook wraparound – gives background information for teachers to equip them with in-depth knowledge of the topic. It also identifies common misconceptions to help correct common errors made by learners. There is enrichment for the advanced learners and reinforcement for the struggling learners.
Activity wraparound – briefs the teachers on the pre-activity preparation work as well as tips and time-savers
